This week I'm talking to Rosemary Thornton about her book, Remembering the Light,

How Dying Saved My Life. Rose is nationally renowned as an expert on historic homes. She's the author of

nine books and she's been featured on a wide range of platforms from PBS to BBC Radio.

In 2016 her husband tragically took his own life and two years later Rose was diagnosed

with a life-threatening illness that led to her near-death experience.

Well, hi, Rosemary, thanks for coming on the podcast.

You're very welcome.

So we're going to talk about your book. It's called Remembering the Light, How Dying Saved My Life.

And so you had this near-death experience. Could you tell us how did it come about that

that happened? Well, it was quite a thing. I guess it began when my beloved husband ended his life

at our home in 2016. I've always been a very sensitive soul, always been a writer,

always been that person who likes sitting amongst the butterflies and the birds

and watching the trees sway in the wind.

And as one could imagine, his death was my undoing and thus began a downward spiral and I lost my mind.
