| 1:19.9 | then this next part of John's gospel might feel a little familiar. Today, we're going to hear what happened after Jesus healed the man at the pool of Bethesda and how that one moment |

| 1:45.4 | finishing out the chapter verses 16 through 47. So because Jesus was doing these things on the |
| 1:53.3 | Sabbath, the Jewish leaders began to persecute him. In his defense, Jesus said to them, |
| 1:59.2 | My father is always at work to this very day, and I too am working. |
| 2:04.8 | For this reason, they tried all the more to kill him. Not only was he breaking the Sabbath, |
| 2:09.6 | but he was even calling God his own father, making himself equal with God. Jesus gave him this answer. |
| 2:20.4 | Very truly, I tell you, the son can do nothing by himself. |
| 2:26.6 | He can only do what he sees his father doing, because whatever the father does, the son also does. |
| 2:33.3 | For the father loves the son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these so that you will be amazed. |
