First of team podcast. Well, Jared, man, thanks so much for being with us on the First of Team Podcast. So excited for our listeners to get to hear what's going on in your life and specifically how God's using you in the ministry of Dad Tired.

So let's just dive right in. I love if you could just tell us the story of dad tired how you got started kind of vision and mission and and where you see it going across the next five years.

Yeah, well I like most people who are doing stuff I just kind of stumbled my way into it on accident. I was actually in a really dark season of life actually I was pretty early in marriage and I was in a really hard spot in my marriage and through a series of events and kind of work and life really got into the spot where I felt actually pretty depressed and down and really kind of wrestling through my own identity issues and as a result of all of that I was actually pulling away from my wife

I was not an engaged husband I was not an engaged dad and in the midst of all of that my wife we were having a fight in our

bedroom which is actually where I'm recording this podcast right now and so I

remember it very vividly and we were in the bedroom and things were kind of getting intense and a little bit heated and I was starting to feel that adrenaline kind of going through my body and my heart rate going up and I was ready to kind of duke it out my wife just stops and

she's got tears in her eyes and she just looks at me and she says

Jared I just want you to know that every morning I've been setting my alarm for

two in the morning to quietly go off and I go into the living room and I've been setting my alarm for two in the morning to quietly go off and I go into the living room

and I've been praying for you that Jesus would capture your heart again.

And I always say man like I wish she would have cussed me out.

I would have rather she cussed me out because that would have been a lot easier to handle, right?
