So we wanted to get into the rebuild of the caps on the heels of the Panthers

winning the Stanley Cup last night.

Congratulations to them. First Stanley Cup in their franchise history and the caps to get back to that sort of territory, they need to do some retooling on the fly.

They need to add some punch, some scoring to this core of players.

I don't think

Ovi wants to just break Wayne Gretzky's scoring record and either

miss the playoffs or get ousted in the first round of the playoffs like they were against the Rangers.

He'd love to have another run at a Stanley Cup

before he retires.

Yeah, you don't want to be a bad team.

By the way, we should acknowledge they were pretty fortunate to just make the playoffs this year.

Certainly. People brought up the goal differential thing. That's a real thing. Teams that usually have that type of

goal differential do not make the playoffs. They were an outlier. They were

but you credit Spencer Carver and his his staff for basically willing that

team into the last playoff spot.

Now they got swept by the Rangers, wasn't great, but look, the underdog team made it in there,

good for them.

But that's not what we're used to with the capitals. We're used to better than that we're used to a longer play

Winning divisions. Yes, so hopefully they can get back to that and look Brian McClellan the GM is he's not sitting on his hands here he goes
