A gunman who killed three people, including at least two business school professors at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas,

before dying in a shootout with police police did not appear to be targeting students,

according to two law enforcement officials with direct knowledge of the investigation.

Terrified students and professors coward in classrooms and dorms as the gunmen roamed UNLV's

Lee Business School on Wednesday and opened fire just before noon on the fourth floor where

faculty and staff offices for the accounting and marketing departments are located. A fourth person

was critically wounded in the shooting according to police. The professors who were killed are

Chejohn Chang, 64 years old, 39-year-old Patricia Navarro Veeles, and a third who has not yet been identified by the

Clark County Coroner's Office. One of the law enforcement officials said the gunman was a

long-time business professor who had unsuccessfully sought a job at UNLV. The other law enforcement

official identified the suspect as Anthony Polito of 67-year-old. Both officials spoke to the Associated Press

on Condition of anonymity, because they weren't authorized to release information publicly.

UNLV's campus, of course, is a gun-free zone, as you probably guessed.
