I'm joined by my colleagues, Hussain O'Connor, former ambassador from Pakistan of the United States, now at the Hudson Institute,

and Bill Rajo, Senior Fellow Foundation for the Defense of Democracy, keeping the Long War Journal.

Gentlemen, a week more since Liberation Day has passed.

Your thoughts last week were anticipated the week we had, so I'm going to ask you to

your thoughts about, especially our part of the

globe, the troubled area from the Hindu Kush to the Mediterranean. Mr. Ambassador, I begin with you.

Many of these states are fragile and some of them are in open conflict. Do you measure that this

tariff dispute that's going on between the world traders touches

them?

Is it significant in the lives of the threatened in all of these countries?

Many of these countries are not huge exporters. The oil exporters are not even affected by the tariffs. So I don't think that the tariffs directly touch upon them. They are more concerned about what they mean for the rest of the world and how that would affect American policy or the policy of other countries.

They will probably be very happy to buy cheap Chinese goods if they are still available

and if the Chinese decide to dump them on their countries for a small, for a lower price just because they have,

have greater difficulty in accessing the American market.

So I don't think the tariffs directly impact the region.

I think that global turmoil does.

Bill, your thoughts about the tariff wars between the five-star hotel set.

Is it touching the areas that you cover especially Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria?
