0:08.0	I'm Elizabeth Mitchell and this is the Daily Signal top news for Wednesday, September 25th. The House of Representatives is expected to vote today on a spending package to fund
0:29.3	the federal government for the next three months. Speaker Mike Johnson will bring a clean continuing resolution for a vote.
0:36.4	This means it will be free of any extraneous spending or policy provisions, funding
0:40.9	the government at the previous years levels.
0:43.0	The spending package needs support from Democrats to pass.
0:46.0	If the resolution fails to pass by September 30th, there will be a government shutdown.

0:53.9	resolution. Bradley, what do you expect to see happen?
0:56.7	This will get passed out of the House and then out of the Senate later this
1:00.9	evening. It will then head to President Joe Biden's desk
1:04.0	where he will probably kick this can down the road until December. Speaker Mike
1:08.5	Johnson has said that he wants no buses, no mini buses, no omnibuses come
1:12.4	December, so chances are then No buses, no minibuses, no omnibuses come December.
1:13.5	So chances are then we will either go through an appropriations
1:16.7	process or more likely we'll get another CR
1:19.3	kicking it to the next conference.
1:21.2	This only adds more importance to the upcoming November
1:24.9	election because if things are kicked down the road until March of last year
1:28.9	as as Johnson originally wanted that means that a new Congress a new Senate and and definitely a new president but it just depends on red or blue
1:36.6	they will be the ones determining spending levels for the next fiscal year.
1:41.6	Do you expect to see resistance from either Republicans or Democrats in passing the CR today?
