Hey, we've got two good Martinis today.

Again, good, good, and definitely crazy for our closing Martini.

But underneath that crazy, I think there's also another good Martini.

But we'll get to that in just a little bit.

We'll talk about today and Jim seems like every time there's a fight when a looming government

shutdown is there or a debt ceiling fight that all the cards are stacked against the Republicans

regardless of the makeup of the government in Washington.

If it's all Democrats, even the Republicans says to somehow still get the blame if they're

even able to filibuster or something like that.

But Republicans right now, I think, are doing a pretty good job, and I think it's

partly because they have some leverage here.

They control the house, and they have enough votes to stop a clean debt ceiling raise

from happening in the Senate.

And all they want is some more responsible spending in exchange for that.

The White House going into today's meeting says absolutely not clean debt ceiling extension

or nothing at all.

But the NRCC is not just taking that lying down.
