As the Yankees try to win game three of this four game series against the Angels and the

Mets try to salvage the finale in L.A. and snap the losing streak, the issue with the Yankees right

now, believe it or not, is mostly looked at the manager, which is why Ben Rice, who is emerging

as a star, is not being treated as such. He sat too many times over the last few days.

And Ben Rice, or the excuse Aaron Boone used for it is, well, I want to use my bullet when I can.

Well, it just came out a few minutes ago, but he did a quick interview in the athletic in which he was asked

directly, is Ben Rice a platoon player since you're treating him as such, and his answer was, hell no.

Wow.

And while that's a forceful answer, what I would ask the manager is, start acting like it.

Right. Then why wasn't he played, hasn't he played the last two days?

The man needs to play every day. The Yankees have been ridiculed for not developing talent

over the last few years. it looks like they're developing

Ben Rice. So let the kid play. And I think the issues with the Yankees right now is despite

the 11 run outbursts the other day, they're just not hitting enough. And a part of that comes

with the fact that the bottom of the order and the left side of the infield has done very little.

Austin Wells hasn't produced behind the plate. And while I may not have a lot of confidence in Ryan McMahon and Jose Caballero and Austin Wells, the Yankees scored more runs than any other team in the American League last year. And I believe they will end up doing that again. Right. And so I look at the Yankee issues right now as more temporary than something I have to worry about long term.

Yeah, it's a slow offensive start.

And there's nothing you can really do about it

because that's just the nature of baseball.

Well, you can play Ben Rice.

Well, yeah.

You can do you get players that should be hitting.
