I've truly waited for this moment.

There's enough people here on the MET payroll to make this list, predicting in order,

the 5x Yankees that will have the best met seasons in 2026.

0:24.7

Here we go.

0:27.0

Number five.

0:28.9

Carlos Mendoza.

0:30.7

Chance he's fired by June.

0:32.3

So we're going to put him here at number five.

0:33.9

He's a higher up.

0:34.5

Of course, a former Yankee bench coach.

0:36.3

All right.

0:36.6

Here we go.

Number four. Devin Williams. I think he's going to have some ups with the Mets, but here's the problem. I think the downs now becomes magnified so much more with the departure of Edwin Diaz, and I'm curious how he handles it. Well, he is in the same situation that he was last year.

0:54.7

He's the closer with Luke Weaver lurking behind him.

0:58.2

So from that standpoint, it's the same, but you're right.

1:01.1

Now, I've mentioned this before.

1:02.8

He is filling the shoes of, in my opinion, the most reliable closer the Mets had in the last 30 years.

1:09.8

And those are big shoes to fill. Big shoes. All right. Here we go. Number three. Clay Holmes. I think it'll be built up stronger as a starter here in year two. I actually think Clay Holmes is going to be a very solid number three starter for the Mets. Not wrong with that. He was a solid starter a year ago. I don't think any of us knew what to expect, and he obviously finished incredibly strong with his best performance coming in game 161. Yep, there we go. Number two. A shocker that this is not number one, but number two is Juan Soto, and I only say this because who's going to be driving him in after he walks a million times? Look, he right now, with the way this lineup is set up, they walk 200 times. It's why I have suggested, and you will hear it again and again and again, that Juan Soto needs to be the lead-off hitter for the New York Mets. Okay. Number one. And number one for me is Luke Weaver. I'm dying on this hill. Luke Weaver will ultimately be the Mets

closer by season's end. And I think any Yankee fan laughing at the Mets today about this is going to be pissed off when he's not a Yankee this summer. What I wonder about with the Yankees is that in Soto's case, you wanted the guy back and you knew he was a great player. So whether, whatever jealousy there was. Like you knew Juan Soto was great. We all know he's a wonderful player. In the case of Devin Williams and Luke Weaver, as former Yankees joining the Mets, you didn't want Devin Williams back. I know you did specifically, but most Yankee fans didn't. I actually wanted both these guys back. Right. Luke Weaver is a guy who had some good moments with the team. Like if both of those guys are locked down, like if they're great, if they're fantastic, is it going to bother you or is it going to be like, eh, whatever, doesn't phase you.

Juan Soto bothers you in a different way and bothers you more because the Yankees at that time never lost the big free agent.
