So the Islanders put out this press release as your adopted grandson continues to do some amazing things as Matthew Schaefer is teaming up with Northwell Health to bring joy to

families that are fighting cancer. The Islanders Children's Foundation donates $150,000 to create a child

support center named in the memory of Schaefer's late mother, Jennifer. So this kid continues

to impress and now is involved in a great way in the community as well. And that's what we expect to happen for years to come. The only thing that he needs to do now is just move out of your daughter's home. That's not happening. So this is a very, very funny story. So, you know, I see him yesterday and I get to meet his girlfriend, Sam, for the first time. And this is lovely, lovely girl. She's a hockey player, too, by the way. Okay. So, you know, obviously it's Mother's Day. So what is he going to do for Mother's Day? That's the big question. So I guess he snuck out of the Martin home. and Matt and I were talking about this, he's going to get flowers for Sydney. You know, his billet mom. Yeah, yeah. That's how he refers to her. And Matt swears he's going to go to like a CVS or a Walgreens or Duane Reed. Yeah. And I'm like, no, he's not.

He's going to go to a florist.

You know, they're in Manhattan.

There's like three or four florists right there. Sure. Go in there and go get flowers if you want. Drove all the way to Brookville to go get flowers. Came out with a very nice bouquet, I will say. but he went all the way to Brookfield to go get it

I tell you say. But he went all the way to Brookfield to go get it. So, you know, he's got a lot to learn

of them, you know, I can tell you. And I will say, I did play golf with him last Friday. And

he's not there yet. He's only played what maybe, I think maybe a handful of times, maybe, I'm thinking

maybe 15 times. But as I told you, after I played the round with him, his hand-eye coordination is ridiculous.

And the little things that he can do on a golf course right now already is pretty impressive.

Oh, I'm sure.

But he's all over the place, but he is getting better each time he plays.

And, you know, his whole goal, at least he told me his whole goal this year was to put on some weight and get ready for next season and come back to be even stronger than he was as an 18-year-old.

And he's committed to having another great season.

So for Islander fans, it's music to their ears, I'm sure. But watching him

just on the golf course, like, you can tell that he's not far away from really becoming good,
