You may have heard there's a pretty big football game over in Atlanta between Virginia Tech and South Carolina.

We talked to the tech coach the other day, Brent Pry, and we were happy to say hello to Shane Beamer.

Coach, good afternoon, and at this point, I realize you've had preparation time all year long, but where are you?

Is it over? You ready to get to Atlanta? What's a week like this like that began when the last season ended?

Yeah, definitely. Thanks for having me on, Paul, first of all, and definitely ready to get to Atlanta. First games are always tough. Just there's so much unknown for both teams, and we've

been getting ready for this one for a while. And it's a little bit different playing a Sunday

game. So for us, it's a normal weekly schedule, but in our world, today is Wednesday. We

had our Wednesday type practice today. Tomorrow we'll do what we normally do on a Thursday, 48 hours before a game and try and stay on that schedule. But certainly like every team across the SEC, every team across the country, there's great excitement and anticipation for week one. And that's where we are also. And coach, I mean, it's coaches, players, administrators, fans.

I mean, everybody at this point is dizzy.

We got a couple of games tonight.

I know that we'll make it easier for those who have rooting interests.

But how do you pace yourself when this game has been in front of you for so long?
