Some breaking news.

A judge has paused Trump's buyout offer to federal workers, a Massachusetts federal judge.

This is a bit of a reminder, although not unexpected.

So this is, we can know this is going to happen more.

But in Trump's first term, one of the things you ran up against these universal

injunctions.

So effectively, one federal judge who is an activist could say i don't like what the president's

doing i'm going to put a universal injunction on it and that was uh that was a way to slow down

things we shall see how this goes interesting that the judge has just paused it and given

people more time for now.

It strikes me as entire, I don't know, I guess you'd have to look at the collective bargaining agreement for civil servants.

The fact that there is any kind of a collective bargaining agreement for civil servants,

or there are statutes that mean that you can't function as as the boss of the executive branch which is what

the president is in a standard way of doing business is mind-blowing i mean clay to me how can you

are you the boss of the executive branch if you can't really fire anybody who works in the

executive branch like if you're not even the anybody who works in the executive branch?

If you're not even the CEO of the federal government, what does that mean about what the president's actually able to do each and every day?

I mean, this is the challenge in general of how do you reform the federal bureaucracy?

Because to your point, I think you said, and it's right, most federal workers go into the federal government and they stay there for decades and they get protections and they get guaranteed salaries and they get pretty good pensions and that's why they never leave.

And they know that whatever a president term is, even if you get it for eight years, it's going to at some level, eventually they're going to outlast the president.
