The Supreme Court of Virginia struck down the proposed redistricting amendment, meaning it will not go into effect and current congressional maps will stay in place.

The amendment have been approved by voters back in April, and it was designed to allow

the mid-decade redistricting, and supporters said it was going to help fix fairness. However,

the court ruled that the process used to advance the amendment violated procedural and

constitutional requirements, making it invalid.

Yeah, I thought we were just kind of getting to the end of the whole redistricting conversation,

not only here in the state of Indiana, but nationally.

It kind of seemed we had peak, especially because we got all these primaries coming up.

But nope, here we go to the big one, Virginia and the Virginia. Now, this was the Virginia

Supreme Court that ruled on this. And this is why this issue of redistricting is so just kind of

messy and sloppy everywhere, because the federal constitution kind of outlays some broad

guidelines, but then gives each individual state an incredible amount of

leeway as the, as it should be.
