time talking about this. Certainly yesterday we were keeping an eye on Josh Jacobs and

Sequan Barkley. Would they get a contract extension done? Nope. They're going to play on

the franchise tag, which is $10 million. But you look at these other running backs and

you look at teams and their philosophy here. B. Sean Robinson got drafted high. Jamir

Gibbs got drafted high. Teams haven't raised the by committee approach. In the 80s and 90s,

it was routine to see a running back have 300 carries. But between 2011 and 2020, the

league saw an average of just two running backs a year go over that threshold. The position

still holds value, but it's a different type of value. Teams can slow the pass rush, control

the pace of the game on the ground. And I was wondered and we saw this with the Titans,

but maybe that's the dinosaur, the anomaly, the unicorn that is Derek Henry. Can you beat

somebody by controlling the clock? Therefore every time your quarterback gets on the field,

let's say you're playing the Kansas City Chiefs. And I thought the Titans would have the right

approach because they could control the clock. If the defense was good enough to be able to stop

the chiefs occasionally. So now you have something that's different. Also, you're drafting players

on defense that are built for speed. If you have a power running game, that's an advantage.

And it's all about matchups. We talk about this with boxing, but in football, can you have

somebody that's got a counter attack? Their idea of success is counterintuitive to what you think
