Well, this is breaking as we speak. Eric Adams has been indicted. There's five charges. There's wire fraud. There's bribery. There's soliciting of bribery. There's a lot of these charges will involve money coming in from different countries.

The Turkish stuff looks like he did take a lot of stuff.

They're alleging it's not just money, but it's all kinds of travel, favors, ritsy vacations,

hotel suites.

Now, some of this, he could argue, is just common business as usual in government.

For instance, a lot of donations coming in.

Turkish officials wanted to open an embassy and they couldn't get the fire department approval fast enough.

They wanted him to speed it up.

Now that goes on all the time with politicians.

Pick up the phone, get the approval.

That goes on all the time.

That's pretty normal.

But what they're alleging here is massive contributions came in from Turkey.

You're not supposed to take these foreign contributions.

So, and this will be where the charges go, the money, he's not allowed to take it from Turkey,

so they funneled it through straw donors, disguised it, sort of laundered the donations as they came in through fake donors.

This is a crime.

That will be a problem.

He also was being charged with, he created and instructed others to create fake paper trails, falsely suggesting that he had, I'm reading the indictment here, falsely suggesting

that he had paid or planned to pay for these travel benefits, but they were actually free,

that's a problem, that's false documents, the wire fraud, and this will be all a part of that.
