Very quietly, the Yankees lost three straight games to the Milwaukee Brewers.

All three games were in ways winnable games, games that they sort of had, specifically the one on Saturday,

in which Timmy Hill made a horrible decision with two on and one out to throw to third base on a comebacker that really did them in.

I mean, that was, it was such a brainlock, and I forget who was on the call. I think it was Joe Girardi, I'm trying to remember now, said, does he know how many outs there were? Yeah. Now, Tim Hill after the game said it was just a bad decision. So he didn't say he knew, didn't know how many outs there were. I guess he claims he knew how many outs there were. It doesn't even matter. It doesn't matter because it was just such a bad decision. And that allowed Contreras to get the sacrifice flying. Obviously, the Yankees lose, and we know what happened yesterday. Carlos Redone's first start back. I won't draw too many conclusions from that. But look, the Yankees went to Milwaukee and they scored six runs in three games. That's a problem. They only had two home runs, which for them is a problem. That's not how they've won over these last, whatever, two weeks or so. They've done it by manufacturing hits, smashing home runs when you had to. Ben Rice was back, but obviously still looks a little rusty from a week off or a week and a half off and they weren't the Yankees that we saw

on the homestand so but am I worried about it no mainly because they were two walkoffs it's not like

they got their doors blown off it's not like they were completely anemic and there were

signs for worry about anything Carlos Rodon you mentioned his start of It's his first game back. So I'm not worried

about him. I would love to see him have come out and pitched great, but he pitched well and

just not quite good enough. His control was off a little bit. The only thing that I think

bothers the Yankee fan, and you tell me, Sean, if this is sticking in your craws, that right

now the Yankees just haven't had success in the rare games they've played against teams above 500. Too early for me to be worried about that. Like I don't know. At no point is they were losing games this weekend that I go, man, here's a team above 500 and the Yankees can't beat him. They got mowed down by Jacob Misaroski who's owning the National League right now. And in the lot of the two games, like Tiki said, they shouldn't have blown the second game.

And yesterday they battled back and didn't get it done at the end. I don't think it's a longfire. What I see about Mizorowski, he threw five of the fastest pitches in baseball. Dude, you were sitting 103, 104? It was insane. Yeah. Insane. He's incredible.

So, yes, he's fantastic. I think the under 500 thing is very overblown. Like, we mentioned it last week, passingly. Like, ah, it's kind of funny. They have only won one game against the team above 500. Right. But they're also taking care of business. Bad teams, they're beaten up.

Which is very important, because if you take care of business at the level the Yankees are taking care of business, A, you're going to win 100 games, and then B, there's a lot of taking care of business teams in the American League, much like 2024, you may go to the World Series anyway. You know what I mean? Like, it doesn't concern me. I also think it can be misleading because when are we judging a team is above 500?

Like when you face them or what their record is now?

Because there's a handful of teams probably in the American League who are going to end up being a lot better than what the record says they are right now.

So I think it's a misleading number, but I understand because the facts of the facts were a quarter of the way through the season, the Yankees haven't had a lot of success against good teams. But they've also not played a lot of good teams. And what are they, four and two versus Texas? If the Texas Rangers hadn't played the Yankees yet, they're above 500. So what does that tell you? No, I think there's a few examples of that. That's the point that everyone had. Yeah, like, so it's stupid.
