Last night was a very entertaining night in baseball, but something so fascinating happened that I think is a case study in human psychology.

So we work in New York, we do a sports talk radio show in New York, and most of the time, when we talk about the Yankees, Yankee fans self-loat.

In fact, I argued with Sean last week, where I was defending the Yankees as a Met fan.

Hey, I think they're the best team in the American League talent-wise.

And Sean tells me every reason they suck.

And we do this all the time.

Like we take callers from Yankee fans.

They're terrible at this.

They're terrible at that.

And yet, someone with a respected voice said it last night on TV,

and it got Yankee fans all upset.

If you missed it, here is the respected longtime baseball guy, Buck Martinez on the Blue J

broadcast, simply reacting to the fact that the Yankees had an inning in which they gave up

150 runs.

The Yankees, they're not a good team.

I don't care what their record is. They have a lot of wild pitches. They make a lot of mistakes in the field. They don't run the bases very well. If they don't hit home runs, they don't have a chance to win. Now, I say this with all due respect, because I love Buck, that's a caller to WFAN. That's a Yankee fan. Yet because he said it, the voice of the Blue Jays, Yankee fans were very upset.
