Modern primary is basically old political boss fight, this time with podcasts and social media.

Political parties, they get punished when members break ranks on major priorities.

And that's what happened here in Indiana.

In regards to redistricting, a lot of those incumbents, they were shown the door because they

weren't going along with the major priority of Donald Trump.

But now one of those fights, it's even closer.

It's down to two.

It's crazy how close this is.

So you've got Senator Spencer Deary from West Lafayette.

He was leading the former Fountain County clerk Paula Copenhaver by just two votes.

And now it's just down to two.

And that's because a provisional ballot, two of them were accepted. So now we just had this discussion off the

air. You hear the term provisional ballot and more and more these days, it seems like, and what

exactly is a provisional ballot? So I am on the Indiana Secretary of State's website right now.

Sorry for your luck. It's what I do for the show. Are you learning so much? I am. Here are several situations in which you may be required to cast a provisional ballot as a voter. Number one, you lack the required photo ID. So, for example, Indiana requires photo ID. I show up to vote.

I didn't bring my driver's license. They're like, you can't vote. And I'm like, okay, I'll take a provisional ballot. Instead, they look at the ballot. And then I assume you have to go back at some later date and bring your ID and be like, see, I told you, here's my proof of ID. And they're like, okay, now this is a real ballot. Here's another example. Your name appears on the poll list, but you have been challenged as not eligible to vote

at the precinct for some reason, and therefore you may get a provisional ballot.
