Welcome to the Translodge podcast, a show where we tell trans stories to save trans lives.

Well, we're just about five weeks away from the very first day of the Trump administration,

and that administration on day one has signaled that it will enact a series of restrictions

and bans specifically aimed at trans people across the board.

Today we wanted to talk about two specific areas where trans people feel the

need to prepare and to get ready. And that is in the area of health care as well as in documents,

two things that the federal government could roll back on day one with respect to equal access

and the ability for us to be able to name and gender ourselves.

That's why I wanted to talk to two people about what we can do to prepare in both of these areas.

First, I'll be speaking with internationally recognized trans-health care expert, Dr. Aserratics,

about how we can prepare for attacks on gender-affirming care.

I think we have to use the harm reduction approach in these circumstances.

And then I'll be joined by community organizer Tony Michelle Williams,

who shares her insights and motivations for helping our community get ready with respect to government documents.

We wanted to do this passport clinic so that folks can change their gender markers and really have access to freedom and liberation in all the ways.
