Summary
Welcome to HOOVERING, the podcast about eating. Host, Jessica Fostekew (Guilty Feminist, Motherland) has a frank conversation with an interesting person about gobbling; guzzling; nibbling; scoffing; devouring and wolfing all up… or if you will, hoovering.
This episode is the last one I recorded BC, before corona and it’s with the absolutely brilliant presenter of C4’s amazing body positive ‘Naked Beach’ and brilliant anti-diet activist Molly Forbes. We met at her lovely home in Devon where we’d made us really fit filo and spinach pies about four weeks ago before all this dramaggedon.

Honourable Mentions
Molly is amazing on INSTAGRAM where you’ll be able to find out more about her incredible #FREEFROMDIETS campaign and eventually once the worlds back up and running, events. She also has an amazing body positive podcast called the @BODYCONSPODCAST. Get all over, all of that, please.
My live stuff is obviously all on hold but I’m in two series on telly at the moment, THE TROUBLE WITH MAGGIE COLE on ITV Hub and TRIGONOMETRY on the BBC iplayer. Also I’m part of the writing team between a new series coming called SUSAN CALMAN: SOCIALLY DISTANT on BBC Scotland and Iplayer, soon.
If you have any spare dollar in your life the first thing I’d like you to do with it is give it to either a food bank like the TRUSSELL TRUST or to the #FeedNHS programme being funded via the LEON WEBSITE HERE
If after giving to them you’ve still got more spare dosh to give a month I’m on this great site called PATREON where I swap your money for ace podcast related stuff like totally exclusive content and guest recipes. It’ll help me keep the podcast not just alive, but also thriving. Thanks so so so much if you’ve become a patron recently and/ or stuck with me since the beginning of this.
The absolutely brilliant C4 show that Molly hosted was called NAKED BEACH which enacts an experiment from DR KEON WEST
Molly also fed me a pie from the wonderfully named CLIVE’S PIES in Devon, on the outskirts of Exeter.
She mentioned the absolutely classic book THE BEAUTY MYTH
And the antithesis of Naked Beach, which I find uncomfortable and upsetting to watch is also on C4 NAKED...

| 0:54.9 | I thought, let's dig this out, put it out, and everything that I put out after this will inevitably |
| 1:01.5 | be more pertinent and relevant to the exact situation. |
| 1:04.4 | But this is a nice distraction, I think, from everything that's going on and everything |
| 1:08.9 | that we're saying is still absolutely relevant because |
| 1:12.0 | it's a doozy, you know. I managed to bag hoovering with the presenter of a Channel 4 program called |
| 1:17.6 | Naked Beach, which if you haven't seen it, is so utterly joyful. It is the most genuinely |
| 1:23.8 | body positive bit of reality TV I have ever, ever seen. She's also a brilliant anti-diet |
| 1:29.0 | activist. It's Molly Forbes. Thanks so much generally, just for listening to the podcast. It's my |
| 1:34.0 | pride and joy, mate. You can tell everyone you ever meet about it if you want. I know you're not |
| 1:38.7 | allowed to go out to meet them, but you can tell them on the internet still. Rate review and |

| 1:44.3 | It at least doesn't involve going out. |
| 1:46.3 | I haven't got loads to plug as all my live work is obviously wrapped up for now. |
| 1:49.8 | But I'm on the telly and two series at the moment, The Trouble with Maggie Cole and I TV in a couple of episodes playing a very fun, awful woman. |
| 1:57.7 | As in it was fun to play her because she's awful. And then I'm very, very, very, very briefly in a drama and I play her called Trigonometry. |
