All right, guys, here I am with two dear friends, Gabe and Rebecca Lions. I mean, we have done

life and ministry together for over a decade. And it is so exciting what we're

going to talk about today. Because honestly, I think this is one of the things that if Zach and I ever

open up a little bit about it, it is so helpful. We get so much good feedback. So I cannot wait.

This book, The Fight for Us, is a marriage book that you all came together

to produce because you felt like this was important. Talk a little bit about that decision,

because I know, I mean, Zach and I've talked about it. We've never been brave enough to do it.

Talk about deciding to write this book. It was definitely Backburner as an idea for a long time. But then we're always like, we're never going to do this book. It was definitely back burner as an idea for a long time. But then

we're always like, we're never going to do a parenting book. That feels really scary.

But even a marriage book, you're always like, oh, I don't know. But 28 years in, you know,

I think the Lord has done so much in our marriage, especially since year 20, you know, like about

the last eight or nine years, that we just

felt the freedom to go like, let's be as honest as we possibly can about the pitfalls, about

the agreements, the lies that we had made agreements with, the way we had turned away from one

another. And let's just go there because the sooner people can get this message of freedom on the other side of that

full honesty, full disclosure, full transparency, the healthier their marriages are and the more

encouraged they become and the more free and enjoyable their marriages. Because I'm like,

if you're going to stay together in Covenant but you don't like each other at all, then what's

the point? Like there's a side of me that's like, can't we flourish in this? And so it took a lot of hard steps to get there, but God is so

kind. You know, he's very kind with our repentance and gives us the freedom on the other side.

You know, Rebecca's an oversharer. And so she had to really pull out of me like, okay, we're going to go there. We're going to tell the stories. I mean, we're going to tell our toughest moments, our hardest moments.
