Joining me right now is Gary Myers. Gary Myers, a longtime NFL reporter and columnist,

covered the NFC East in its glory years with the Dallas Morning News and the New York Daily

news. He's very familiar with the Redskins teams of the 80s and the matchups with the Cowboys

and the Giants and the Eagles. He's a best-selling author. His newest book is Brady v. Manning. And the question that it answers is, was it? It's actually Brady v. Belichick. What did I say? Manning. Oh, my fault. My fault.

Well, that is, you know what?

That's your next book. That's your next book. Was it Brady or Belichick? My fault. Yeah. Was it Brady or Belichick, the greatest unanswered question in NFL history? Gary is with me right now. My fault on that. So you are, look, you've been one of the all-time,

for those of us of a certain age, and remembering, you know, that era, you were a big part of it.

And then, you know, you had the book about, you know, Parcells and the former giants and some

of the tragedy around some of their stories off of that

great 86 team. Belichick was a part of it, obviously, is the defensive coordinator. You're so

intimately familiar with the Giants and with Belichick. So I'll just start with the obvious. Why do you

think Belichick didn't get 40 votes to become a first ballot hall of

famer when it seems so obvious?

Yeah, I mean, I think it's fairly obvious that he had the credentials to be a first ballot

Hall of Famer and that, you know, it's a secret ballot, and I don't know who voted against him,

I would have to think that those who had an objection were, you know, relying on their feelings

that, you know, Spygate eliminates him from first ballot consideration, and maybe they'll never

vote for him. that day think he cheated

and doesn't deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. I was working for the Daily News here at the time

of that and I was as critical of Bill as anybody was. I thought it was horrible what he did,

but he was punished for it and I think he was embarrassed at being caught.

I don't think he really even feels what he did was wrong.
