H.OA.A. tricks me, but I find a legal loophole to make their plan backfire badly.

So this story is about a property I own but rents out. This may sound strange, but I don't think I could afford to live there these days.

It's become somewhat exclusive. I'll be using dollars here

because it's what most people hearing this will relate to. This doesn't take place

in the US and I've given an approximate dollar value for local currency.

To answer the most commonly asked question, this is in South Africa.

A million years ago, my property was part of a large farm.

I bought it about 30 years ago, long after the farm was broken up,

but before there was any real development near it. The piece of land I got was near the

back entrance that joined into a dirt road that ran past.

The more expensive plots were near the Tard Road in the fronts.

I originally bought a large chunk of the land intending to do some farming,

but that never happened.

About 20 years ago, some of the owners got organized.

Will refer to them as the organized owners.

They had the area designated as a municipal suburb.

The municipality agreed to put in tard roads, water, and electricity if a certain percentage of the

properties were developed.
