According to the Topsy-Turvy logic of the postmodernist woke worldview, the idea of objective truth

not only seems musty-dusty and woefully out of date but small-minded mean-spirited and

insensitive. Even the gentlest assertion of truths's applicability sounds like an unwelcome thunderclap

disrupting polite society and that is something our highly touted tolerance simply cannot and will not tolerate.

We are relentlessly exhorted that it is best not to exercise judgment or discretion lest we be

found guilty of judgmentalism or discrimination. Air. Bad has come to mean good, and good is what every woke influencer status-conscious journalist

and every Hollywood starlet most desperately seek to avoid becoming. We take pride in things that once would

have shocked us, shamed us and silenced us. We revel in breaking traditions, violating conventions and upsetting

taboos. The rebels have become our heroes while our heroes are either forgotten altogether or forced to endure our cynical

shaming and shunning. Certainty has been stigmatized as rigidity.

Virtue has been made into, if not an actual vice, at the very least a potential liability.

Orthodoxy bears the taint of heresy while heresy is praised for its honesty, courage,

and ingenuity.

We have begun to doubt that there is any such thing as a standard by which we can judge

fact from fiction or right from wrong.

Everything has become relative, which is just another way of saying

that we have gone from being a society which legislates morality to a society which legislates immorality.

The implications of such heedless ambiguity are frightening.
