His below said that it had completed the quote first phase of an attack on Israel. The Iran-backed militant group fired hundreds of rockets towards Israel

overnight in a long-awaited retaliation for Israel's killing of a top Hezbollah commander in Lebanon last month.

Hamas welcomed the operation, which it said had hit, quote, vital and strategic targets in Israel.

The Israeli army said the rockets inflicted, quote, very little damage. Meanwhile, Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's Prime Minister, warned that his country's preemptive

strikes on his blood targets in Lebanon on Saturday were, quote, not the end of the story.

He is convening an urgent meeting of his security cabinet.

Lloyd Austin, America's Secretary of Defense said he had spoken with

Yowev Gallant, his Israeli counterpart. He reaffirmed America's quote

ironclad commitment to Israel.

Telegram's boss, Pavald durov, was arrested at an airport near Paris

for allegedly failing to take action against harmful behavior by users of the encrypted messaging app.

That behavior includes fraud, drug trafficking, cyberbullying and organized crime, according

to AFP, a French news agency.

The Franco-Russian billionaire is expected to appear in court on Sunday.

Russia's embassy in France asked for consular access to him.
