Now, the West has been, I would say, in the midst of a number of crises over the last few years,

one of them being a growing political crisis.

I mean, in the United States, we see, of course, Trumpism, a far-right movement,

which has assumed control of the world's only superpower.

And Trump 2.0 is really rather different from Trump 1.0. The restraints are truly off.

But across Europe as well, whether it be the AFD in Germany, for example,

whether we see Marine Le Penz, movements in France, there is the rise of a far right,

which presents itself as being against the elites,

often tapping in to the discontent and disillusionment and real grievances people have

because of the neoliberal economic system, if you like, a economic system which has

redistributed wealth and power, many of us would argue in favour of elites.

But are they really rebelling against neoliberalism and that economic system?

Or they, in many ways, the logical or the next logical stage of that system?

I'm really, really fascinated to be speaking to this brilliant author, Quinn Swobledon,

who is the author of Hayek's Bastards, which is just a great title. I just think I have a great

title for a book, Hyatt's Bastards, Bam, raised gold, IQ and the capitalism of the far right.

I just want to firstly, look, I mean, the book obviously you wrote before Trump 2.0 ascended to the White House.

Just give a flavor of what you think.
