I welcome Colonel Jeff McCausen, the United States Army retired artillery men. Diamond Six Leadership and Strategy, most importantly, CBS News and even more important visiting Professor Dickinson College

to guide us through what we know and what we want to know about the several

conflicts now underway August 6 1945 and 9th 1945 is a conflict that was concluded

except the weapon used that day is now routinely threatened by our

adversaries to be used again.

You were trained to deal with nuclear weapons.

You've written a book about nuclear weapons.

My reading of what happened in Hiroshima, Nagasaki

in August of 1945 was unknown to the leadership in the United States. They did not understand radiation, they did not understand the

scale of the blast. They certainly didn't want to lead to the casualty of the

casualty of the case. that we know now was the eventuality of those two weapons. Today is there

any reason to believe there would be a safe way to use that nuclear weapon or

are we looking at the same horror if used on a city.
