Overview of Healthy Ketogenic Diet and Intermittent Fasting:
DATA:
In this podcast, Dr. Berg talks about how high blood sugar makes your brain smaller. High blood sugar increases insulin, and when you have a chronic elevation of insulin over a period of time, you develop insulin resistance that creates grey matter in the brain and hippocampus. Hippocampus has the highest concentration of insulin receptors in the brain. When you have insulin resistance, the body makes 7x more insulin.
How to Regenerate Brain
1. Calorie Restriction
2. Intermittent Fasting - It can increase insulin sensitivity and the connection between the synapses in the brain.
