let's get started. Hi, everyone. Today, I'm going to talk about four signs of internalized evilism and nerd-a-vurgent kids and teens. I'm going to talk about four signs of internalized ableism in

nerd divergent kids and teens. I'm really wanting to focus on this because it negatively

impacts the mental health of these kids so much. But before we talk about internalized ableism, we need to first talk about

what ableism is. It's basically when people discriminate against or treat others unfairly because

of their disabilities. It's like society's attitudes or actions. just make it harder for people with disabilities.

This can be anything from assuming someone can't do something or not providing the services

someone needs or even using words or language that puts down people with disabilities.

Abelism for neurodivergent kids is kind of like this giant weight.

They carry around everywhere with them.

It's all the little things that really add up that make them feel like they don't fit in. They're not good enough. They're not as good as neurotypical kids. So imagine being in a classroom where the teacher always praises the kids

who are able to sit still and pay attention. But the teacher gives you the eye because you can't sit still because your body doesn't let you.

You're always fidgeting.

You'd probably feel like you could never measure up.

What if you were in English class and the teacher always praised the kids who had good handwriting?
