This is a podcast of action providing a little extra motivation to keep that fitness promise you may.

Hi, I'm Dave. I've been walking for fitness since 2013, averaging almost 21,000 steps a day.

That's not my goal, but it's merely a reflection of how much I love walking and all the benefits that comes from that.

You can't tell, other than the fact I'm getting ready to tell you, that I'm actually

walking even earlier than I usually do, and probably at a slightly faster pace what you likely will hear before we're done our

10-minute walk today is some wind we've got a storm that's going to be moving into the area this morning, which is going to produce

some really strong winds and some heavy rain, which I don't mind walking in strong winds and heavy

rain, but this heavy rain will be part of thunderstorms, and there's even the possibility for tornadoes.

So that kind of changes the equation just a bit.

Years ago, this was probably 15, 20 years ago, I was doing the afternoon shift,

and it was in the summer, in Maryland.

And there was a line of thunderstorms moving through the area that produced a tornado.

And, of course, we're getting updates from the National Weather Service about this tornado.

And of course, one of the prime responsibilities of a local radio station is to keep folks

alerted to situations like tornadoes in real time.

And so I'm on the air, and I'm breaking into saw situations like tornadoes in real time.

And so I'm on the air and I'm breaking into songs as soon as I'm getting updates from the National Weather Service about where this tornado is.

And the radio station, the physical location of the radio station was south, is south of

Baltimore and the tornado was south, is south of Baltimore,
