It happens all the time with parents that there's never going to be anybody good enough to date your kid.

Never, never, never, never.

So maybe you start making things up in your head that are worse than they really are just so you can kind of

create some tension and break them up.

Yeah, I feel like for me if I ever do choose to become a parent,

this is going to be one of the hardest things for me

is you have this picture you paint for your kid

to where you feel like their life is going to end up

in a certain way.

But the problem is, you're not holding the paintbrush, but kids are.

And sometimes that picture is going to look a little bit different.

So my friend came to me with a question that, I don't know why she came to me with this because

I don't have the answers, she's like I feel like my

parents like my sister's new boyfriend or dislike my sister's new boyfriend for

just kind of stupid and petty reasons. So for a little backstory my friend's

sister is kind of like me.

She's always been sort of chronically single.

She had one really serious boyfriend in college

and you know, they thought they were going to get married

and then like kind of out of the blue, they broke up and it was this whole thing with the family because the family really liked him and it was like the breaking apart of this family that they thought that they were going to have.

So I mean years are going by and she's still out in the dating world
