Welcome to Ambridge on the couch, an in-depth look at the Archers with me, Jeff Thomas, Lucy Freeman, Harriet Carmichael, James Everett and Matt Rodriguez-Pain.

Now, before we make a start on your emails, let's have a recap of what happened this week in Ambridge.

We began the week with Jazza and Tracy suddenly

realizing they had more money than they realized thanks to Jazza getting a

minuscule pay rise a while back. I'm not sure this is accurate. People with no

money tend to know to the tenor how much they've got so suddenly discovering

they could actually afford to put more money into Nedy's Boghus seemed unlikely,

but Chelsea was delighted, so I am too. Also delighted with each other were Alice and her new

Bo Rex who apparently drives around with a tape measure in his pocket at all times. Maybe he's

insecure. Anyway, they were all being a bit best wishes kind regards until they've got the first

snog over with. It's always an awkward stage that, and then after it's done, you quite miss it.

However, Alice was such a cow to wrecks in the pub, forcing him to invite Krusty along, which will

utterly mortify her too when she finds out she's been a gooseberry twice in one night. I can't

believe he's sticking with her.

David was delighted, as some idiot has decided to put him in charge of the poor Chester show.

He's always happy when he gets a new role to play, barman, events planner, as it means he gets to

sneak away from the farm and leave his mother and Ruth heaving bullocks about. His tactic

appears to be to have absolutely

no inspiration himself but to plead for help pitifully from everyone he meets. After deciding to

share some highly personal and significant family financial decisions with Linda, a woman he barely

tolerates generally, he started on her about the show and she told him he needed to develop a big idea.
