Are you ready to study the book of Hebrews for nine months? It's going to be fun. Okay, so if you missed

last week, and I know a lot of you did, last week was the preface to all the ideas that are going to be

fleshed out where Moses, Paul in the book of 2nd Corinthians talked about Moses and he compared

the law and the Ten Commandments to the new covenant we have under the

blood of Jesus. And he basically said, the glory we have been invited to encounter because of Jesus

is a glory that we contemplate and that we reflect to the world. And so so much of 21 days,

that agenda has been set by that sermon last week, but even more than 21 days,

it sets the stage for Hebrews because the writer of Hebrews is telling us that not only is the

covenant that Jesus has brought better, but Jesus is better than any option you can give

your life to. So part one of Hebrews is titled God's final word, and that is

the heading over the epic introduction that we're going to study today. And we already read it at the

beginning of this gathering. Don't turn there, guys. We're going to have a Bible drill in just one

second. Let me do the intro. It's easy to find. It's at the very end. You're not going to

One of them is something you need to know about Hebrews, because Hebrews is one of the most

unique books in the New Testament in that we don't know who wrote it. Yes, we have a book in

the Bible where we are not confident of the

authorship, which is a big deal because anytime I tell y'all to study scriptures, I try to encourage you

to know the context. Who wrote it and who are they writing it to? A lot of our confusion early on

in reading the Bible is alleviated once we discover that these are real situations, that God spoke

into real people.
