Well, if you're just joining us in Hebrews, it has been an adventure so far, but the last couple of weeks have been especially brutal and convicting.

We've talked about how the Word of God is alive and active, sharper than a double-edged sword.

We've invited the Word of God to speak to the deepest spaces of who we are and transform things, even if it's like generational issues that need

to be transformed. And then last week, the writer stops because he's about to make a point. And he's

like, hold on, before I make that point, y'all can't handle that point. Because y'all are some

babies who need to start acting like adults spiritually. And we were all like, wait, what? How does this

apply to my life? And you need milk, not solid food. And we want to be a church

that remains hungry for the things of God. Because what we saw last week, this is huge,

is that maturity in the Christian life doesn't come because of the number of years you've been

following Jesus. Maturity in the Christian life comes today with whether or not your spirit is hungry and thirsty for more of God.

So as we come before the Word of God, we're not like tensing up.

Like, I don't know what God's going to say today that's going to call me to change.

We're actually looking forward to the way the Word of God exposes things about our story and heals us.

Because here's the thing about God.

God's intention is not to change you and make you less like who you really want to be. God's intention is to

transform you into the man, into the woman he created you to be. So following Jesus and applying

the scriptures to your life doesn't make you less human. It actually helps you step in to the fullness of what you were created for.

So today, when we open the scriptures, we're not going, I don't know if I want to hear this. We're going,

please, you are invited Holy Spirit to expose and speak into the things of my life that need to be transformed and need to be addressed.

And the great thing about today is

finally, we've arrived at a comforting, encouraging passage. I'm not going to lie, this passage,

top three, definitely top five for me in Hebrews of my favorites. And one, that at the beginning
