Summary

#186: Today's episode is a recording I made of my seminar on Heavy Weather Sailing I gave at last weekends Ocean Sailing Seminar, hosted by World Cruising Club in Annapolis. While I'm lucky not to have too many gnarly heavy-weather sea stories of my own, I've studied the subject for years and enjoying talking about it theoretically. What follows is a discussion on what I feel are the 'best practices' for handling heavy weather, of course brought to life by a few of my own sea stories. Follow along with slides from the presentation at 59-north.com/heavyweather.

And we'll be co-hosting an offshore sailor's hangout with Kokomo and Co.

A little creative project by our good friend and one of East Bjorn's sailing mates, Jake Albano.

Anyway, the point is to create a space where like-minded sailors can come hang out, share

stories and meet cool people. We're just in the planning stages now, but we know for sure

1:04.4

we'll be featuring some live music. There will be plenty of libations on hand, and I'm rounding

up my ocean-sailing friends to pop by and share some

stories. Boat Show starts October 5th this year, so plan on coming by to say hi. You can check out
