We've been hearing a lot about the so-called intellectual dark web in recent months,

a group of scientifically literate academics and intellectuals with a range of political views,

but united in their opposition to the narrow dogmas of the intersectional left.

Well, one woman who was part of this IDW long before it was even known as the IDW was Heather

McDonald, a New York-based conservative writer and Manhattan Institute scholar who for years has been challenging

lazy assumptions about American society, especially when it comes to race and gender.

Her new book from St Martin's Press, which we've recently excerpted in Colette, is titled The Diversity Delusion,

How Race and Gender Pandering corrupt the University and undermine our culture.

Earlier this month, I caught up with Heather at her Upper East Side apartment in New York

to discuss her critique of American higher education and much else.
