Do you know what the Bible says about what God did with your sin? More than merely knowing it,

do you feel it deep down inside? The Bible uses many different words, images, and metaphors

to talk about how God deals with our sin as redeemed children. And yet so often, we can feel plagued with guilt

and shame, struggling to really believe the core truth of the gospel. In Christ, we are truly

forgiven. In my interview today, I'm talking with Sam Storms about how God deals with our

sin once and for all.

Sam serves as senior pastor of Bridgeway Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma,

and as the author of numerous books, including A Dozen Things God Did with Your Sin

and Three Things He'll Never Do from Crossway.

Well, Sam, thank you so much for joining me again on the Crossway podcast. I'm glad to be back. Been looking forward to this. Yeah, yeah, definitely. So when it comes

to the biggest problem that we as humans face, that would be our own sinfulness in the face of a holy God,

those of us who know God and love His grace have been Christians for a long time.

I think we know, generally, that we can't take care of this problem on our own.

We get what the Bible teaches about our own inability to take care of our sin. And

Scripture makes that very clear to us. And yet I think that even for those of us who, with our

whole hearts, believe that we need God's grace, we need His salvation, we can nevertheless,

maybe still sometimes think a little bit simplistically about

what it is that God has done for us, how he deals with our sin. I wonder, as you reflect on

all the years you've spent teaching, preaching, shepherding people as a pastor and as a professor,

have you noticed that maybe sometimes even solid Christians

can not fully appreciate the nuances and the beauty to what God has done for us?
