I'm John Batchew of Bill Roshio, my colleague, and we're speaking with John Hardy

on the Ukrainian war, fog of war, but we do have headlines. John, Mr. Zelensky, says he will

meet Mr. Trump in Washington the end of this week.

At the same time, it is reported almost simultaneously that the senior Ukrainian officials are heading to Washington for talks on defense and energy.

Is there something in the wind?

The remarks by the president have been adamant that Russia must end the war, but there was no timeline attached.

Do you have a sense of what these talks are for this weekend?
