The self-named president of Syria, Al-Sharah,

addressing the United Nations and enjoying the plaudits of major powers around the world.

To be very specific, however, this is about the security of Israel,

not about reconstituting a badly damaged sovereignty of Syria.

So David, I come to you bluntly about the Golan Heights.

Right now, it's in possession of the IDF.

So is a buffer zone towards Damascus, I understand.

I don't have the clear lines, but it's meant to make it very clear, thou shalt not pass.

However, the Alshara reconstitution suggests that sovereignty is going to return to Syria at some point in future, at some point.

What about the Golan Heights? To your understanding, Israel is talking to Syria. Does that mean

that Golan Heights are negotiable again? You and I both know that as a strategic position,

it must be held by the idea. Well, look, it's it must be held by the IDF.

Well, look, it's beyond just being held by the idea.

The DMV that separated the Israeli side of the Golan from Syrian side of the Golan was seized beginning December 8th of 2024 when Assad fell to Kermon, Jabal Shev and Arabic,

was seized by the IDF.

This is the highest point in the Golan Plateau.

Basically, the eyes into, depending on who's holding,

either the eyes into Syria and Lebanon or the eyes into Israel.

So the IDF sees these strategic points deep in the buffer zone.
