Hello, America, and happy Monday. Wow, what a weekend it was. We began the weekend with Bashar al-Assad in charge of Syria. We ended it with him fleeing to Moscow and a 50-year reign

ending in Syria. The country is now in the hands of Islamist rebels. Unclear what sort of future it will have.

But President Trump didn't use the opportunity to call for more war in the Middle East. Just the

opposite. He used it as an opportunity to appeal to Russia to say, listen, you lost Syria,

your friend, because you were too sidetracked with a war in Ukraine that no one's going to win.

Let's make peace in Ukraine first.
