Summary

Do you feel like you're drowning? Take heart- our God is a rescuer. When we call on Him, He moves. Beth continues unpacking Psalm 18, reminding us that the Creator is never contained by creation and that His pursuit of us is relentless. He will leave the 99 to find the 1- because you are fiercely loved. And when you’ve been rescued, you know deep down, it wasn’t you. It was Him.

"You have to know you are loved fiercely, or you will not live boldly." – Beth Moore

Psalm 18:1-6, 16-19; Genesis 1:1-2; Ephesians 4:30; Luke 15:1-7

been afraid you were going to drown, but you have nearly drowned before in your circumstances.

destruction terrified me. The ropes of shale and that's that's Hades, that's the place of

0:44.9

departed spirits, that's that sense of being away from God. They entangled me. The snares of

0:51.0

death confronted me. And so there's this feeling of being wound up,

0:56.2

of having cords wrapped around you. And this is so much of how the enemy works,

1:03.9

the foe of our very souls works. Because when we're first beginning to get in a situation that's going to end up being

1:14.1

true bondage to us, we're never aware in the very beginning that that's where we're headed

1:21.2

or wouldn't we usually stop. But see, the ropes drape around us very loosely in the beginning, don't they?

1:29.7

But they just keep winding around us and winding around us and winding around us and

1:33.0

winding around us and then they begin to tighten and tighten and tighten until we realize

1:39.4

we cannot move.

1:43.6

Now, I know some of you have come this week, and I know it.

1:46.7

I know it just from being as old as I am and having as much experience with people as I have.

1:51.5

Some of you feel like you are drowning.

1:55.2

And again, if you do, you are in the right place.

1:58.0

That in your circumstances, even if you would look at all of those things

2:01.2

and say, you know, one by one, none of them are bad. But I am drowning in the midst of them.
