today with a bonus episode on the last full day of Joe Biden's presidency. President Biden delivered

his farewell address from the Oval Office on Wednesday night. And last week, he did

something he rarely does. He sat down with an actual journalist for a Q&A. He spoke with USA Today

and their lead Washington reporter, Susan Page. And so my guest today is that person. It's

Susan Page. She conducted the exit interview, and of course, she is the

bureau chief of USA today. We won't have an audience question today for this bonus episode, but we

will be back on your feed, as usual, on Wednesday. But in many ways, Susan Page has become

sort of the exit interviewer in chief when it comes to the Nancy Pelosi biography of

three years ago, which sort of chronicled the end of her tenure of power. And then here

you got this exit interview, too, in some ways, very different interviews, but in some ways

looking for the same, same sort of questions there. So let's start with Joe Biden. How did he seem to you?

So, you know, Chuck, first of all, it's great to be with you on your podcast. Secondly,

that's the first question everybody has asked me. Because of course, big questions about how Joe Biden is doing. doing you know I interviewed him for an hour

he was lively he was engaged he stumbled almost not at all he conflated to things at the

very end that didn't seem like a big deal to me so he was energetic, and he had a mission, which was to make the point that

his presidency is better than his ratings, that he was a more consequential president than

he's getting credit for at this moment.
