So our passage today has terms that are familiar to Christians and non-Christians.

We've all heard an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth or turn the other cheek and

this is the fifth of Jesus' statements that we're working through here that you heard

that it was said but I say to you where Jesus is calling for our righteousness of those

of us in Christ to surpass that of the scribes and the Pharisees.

So we are on episode 120 today and it's titled Have We Know Rights and we're working through

verses from Matthew chapter 5 verses 38 to 42.

So before we get into the text today, I want to open us up with some thoughts from James

Montgomery boys from his commentary on the Sermon on the Mount.
