of the investigations, indictments, and civil and criminal trials of Donald Trump

and his circle of sycophants and enablers.

For most of that time, until quite recently recently that focus left us with too much to cover in a given week as the landscape of legal problems for Donald Trump was vast and varied

State federal civil criminal was vast and varied. State, federal, civil, criminal,

free presidency, during the presidency,

post presidency, just a stunning array

of corrupt and ugly conduct. and all the cases combined to give robust hope of

substantial if not total accountability, financial, legal, and political for Trump's long list of misdeeds.

Today, things look different. A series of disheartening assists in the legal system and a bizarre run of luck by the former

president have gutted the country's prospects for full and genuine accountability

and even given Trump reason to think he can slip almost all the nooses and in

particular his strategy of using the presidential campaign to escape his legal

perils no longer looks as long shot as it did.

Still, the criminal cases against him have been hobbled but not demolished.

Each of them survives and each of them still carries risks for Trump.
