That's what Hannah Thomas Uwase is asking with her new book, Who Wants to Live Forever?

We talk about why, like all good novels, it was just one seed, a simple question.

I suppose maybe it's a bit like what an actor might do before they are preparing for a role,

you know, like really sinking into the world, the scene, the feeling, trying to inhabit

what I'm about to write and feel it on a bodily level and see it in my mind.

And why she was in two minds when getting feedback for the edit.

I had sort of two desires, conflicting desires. One is like, I really hope they tell me exactly how to, you know, like

deal with this or fix this and, you know, get me to

transform this into a much better book. And I suppose the other desire is you want someone to come

back and be like, it needs nothing. It's perfect. It's on the way with Hannah Thomas, USA
