We are right back at it with hangers on week our look at presidential primary

candidates throughout US sister who just hung around a little too long.

That's this late February early March period that we're looking at and I should say for larger

framing this is kind of the first in a bunch of special series we're planning this

year around key moments and key trends in election cycles like primaries and the VP stakes and conventions and

we're going to do October surprise week later this year so you know this is our way to

kind of speak to the election we're going through right now but for Hangars-on week

last episode as people know we did this

overview of the categories of Hangars on from folks who tried to affect policy to folks who

are maybe in it for more media exposure or to run for other offices.

Maybe folks who just kind of didn't have anything better to do

with their lives.

Hello there. Hello Jody. Hey there. So let's focus in on a couple

candidates. A few candidates who fall under this category that we can maybe call Trump precursors.

I mean obviously there's Trump himself who ran and flirted with running a number of times,

but then there are these Trumpian folks in the hangar-on vein and it's the sort of combination of categories I think that we laid out last time who are people who want to push the party in a certain direction and then of course the folks who embrace that most Trumpian thing there is, which is they just love the media exposure.
