Hello and welcome to Dummy, a twice weekly conversation among editors and friends of Howler magazine.

My name is George Qureshi. I am the editor of Howler.

Joining me in my tiny little studio in Miami is the only member of this podcast who, to date, has scored for Arsenal.

favorite things. The U.S. national team advancing in a World Cup and Louis Suarez. We'll hear

from Alexander Avnos, a howler editor who separate from that is working this summer as a writer

for us soccer.com. He's sending us updates from the camp, and he joined us just hours after the

Germany game for today's update. After that, we will talk about a major milestone in this World

Cup, the end of the group stage. We'll look back at some of the most memorable moments from the

opening part of this tournament and ahead to where it gets really serious in the knockout rounds.

We'll also be joined by Shereen Ahmed.
