0:12.2	Hi, Danny. We moved into a modern block of flats on the Isle of Man in 2001.
0:17.2	My wife Lauren was pregnant with our son, Evan, and the place felt just right.
0:21.7	Except the spare room.
0:24.1	Nothing dramatic, just a feeling like someone was always just out of view watching.
0:29.2	When Evan was born, he stayed in our room at first, but when he was six months old,
0:33.3	we put him in the spare room, in a cot by the wall.
0:36.7	One night, I put him down around 8 o'clock.
0:39.3	An hour later, the baby monitor crackled with a sound of baby laughter.

0:45.2	Lauren checked. Evan was asleep, dead to the world.

0:50.5	A chuckle, a pause, a chuckle, another pause.

0:55.9	a conversation. I got up. As I approached a spare room, I heard a soft tapping from the inside,
1:03.3	like fingers, gently trying the door. I opened it. Evan was sitting by the door, smiling, patting it like he was playing a game.
1:13.7	He was too young to crawl. He couldn't get out of his cot. And yet, there he was.
