Before we move on, tonight is the second night of Hanukkah.

Jewish people around the world are gathering to be with family and community and to light

the menorah, and as they do so, they're undoubtedly heartbroken by the vile act of anti-Semitic

terror that occurred in Sydney, Australia on Sunday.

All of us here

at late night are devastated by this horrific, unspeakable crime. We're thinking of the victims

and of Jewish people everywhere who have once again been plunged into unfathomable mourning

in pain by this grotesque act of anti-Jewish hate, anti-Semitism, anti-Semitic violence are on the rise around the world,

and this attack is just the latest in a tragic and disturbing pattern, then we must all do everything in our power to stop.

All people everywhere must feel safer to gather with their communities and practice their faiths publicly,

to attend menorah litings, and to worship at their syn and practice their faiths publicly to attend menorah

lightings and to worship at their synagogues without fear of violence like we saw in

Sydney. It's abhorrent. We must all speak out against it. May the memories of those who

are killed be a blessing. Thank you, everyone for listening. And now we will do our very best to try to go back to some jokes.
